Various Street Improvements Program
Additonally, the 2025 Various Street Improvements (VSI) Program is working to deliver small- to medium-scale operational and safety upgrades on behalf of other departments such as Mobility, Parks, and Water Services. Typical improvements include intersection upgrades, turn bay extensions, curb extensions, traffic calming measures, sidewalk and pathway connections, drainage enhancements, and transit facility upgrades. These projects aim to improve the safety, accessibility, and overall quality of Calgary’s existing infrastructure, often addressing transportation optimization, safety priorities, redevelopment plans (ARP), and community-identified issues.
Below is a summary of planned projects in Ward. Locations may be added, removed, or rescheduled due to weather, resource availability, or coordination with other City initiatives. Up-to-date project locations are available on the Calgary Roadway Activities Map.
(Please note: there may be some overlap between the projects listed here, and the mobility projects noted above.)
Navigating Construction Season
We all know there are two seasons in Calgary: Winter and construction. Mobility work is essential to keep our growing city moving, but we understand these changes can cause frustrating delays.
To reduce disruptions, The City coordinates detour schedules, monitors and adjusts traffic flows in real time, and maintains emergency access for those walking, wheeling, or driving.
