More Support for Community Events in Ward 9

Establised in 2003, the Ward Community Event Fund (WCEF) was created to support community groups, non-profits, and local organizations hosting events or launching initiatives that strengthen and connect our neighbourhoods.

On April 29, 2025, Council approved an additional $280,000 in funding for the WCEF for 2025 and 2026. A total of $20,000 is now available to each ward to support events and initiatives in each year.

Organizations may apply for any amount necessary to support their proposed expenses. The actual funds awarded is at each Councillor's discretion, and will depend on the available funds remaining. Since funding is limited, we strongly encourage organizations to apply well in advance of your planned events.
