Canada Day kicks off a Summer of Festivals in Calgary
Summer Starts Here! With over 200 festivals and events happening between June and September, downtown Calgary is the place to be this summer.
To make it easier than ever to explore what’s happening, The City of Calgary has created the Downtown Summer Festivals & Events Website – your go-to guide to find festivals, events, markets and cultural experiences happening downtown all summer long.
Downtown is home to some of our city’s proudest landmarks and biggest celebrations. These events bring Calgarians together to experience community, creativity, and culture, and help support the local businesses and artists that make our downtown authentically Calgary. Whether you’re taking in major celebrations like Canada Day, Stampede, Expo Latino, the Chinatown Street Festival, or discovering new ones, downtown will be bursting with energy, entertainment, and fun all season long.
Mark your calendars, gather your friends and family, and get ready for an unforgettable summer. Visit calgary.ca/summerfestivals to start planning your downtown adventure.

Fireworks
Canada Day will cap off with a fireworks show at approximately 11 p.m. launched from Stampede Park. The display will light up the sky in the downtown core and surrounding areas.
For the best Canada Day experience, we encourage Calgarians to join us at The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland (formerly Fort Calgary) to enjoy the main stage evening show followed by the fireworks.
Calgarians can also watch the fireworks from wherever they typically go to see Stampede fireworks.
Onsite viewing at Stampede Park will not be available due to set up of the 2025 Stampede and vehicle access into west Ramsay (Scotsman’s Hill) will also be restricted.
If you plan to watch the fireworks from Scotsman’s Hill. please be a good neighbour and be considerate about the people that live in Ramsay. Pay attention to and abide by parking restrictions and road closures in the area, and avoid cut through traffic on residential streets.
Calgarians can also take part in Canada Day events hosted by civic partners at the Central Library, East Village and Studio Bell.
