As part of The City’s commitment to protect the public and environment, joint training sessions for Calgary Fire and Water Services are scheduled The training will focus on responding to substance spills or releases into waterbodies, ranging from daily routine cleanups all the way to large incidents requiring activation of Water Services’ emergency operations or The City of Calgary Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
This training supports The City’s new Environmental Release into Waterbodies Emergency Response Plan, which will bring together response crews from various business units. These type of regular training events help prepare for a variety of incidents, including emergency situations, and provides an opportunity to streamline processes.
