Bridgeland Main Street Project: Updated Construction Notice - June 2025
The Bridgeland Main Street project, part of The City’s larger Main Streets program, is moving into its next stage of construction, with work being focused on the 1st Avenue NE blocks between 6 and 7 Street NE. This next stage of work is slated to begin on June 27th and last for approximately 8 weeks.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Beginning June 27th for approximately 8 weeks, residents, businesses, and visitors to the Bridgeland area can expect:
Traffic Disruptions
Eastbound lane closure on 1 Avenue NE between 6 and 7 Street NE
Traffic will be rerouted via Centre Ave NE
Temporary Parking Changes
Parking removal on the south, eastbound lane side of 1 Avenue NE between 6 and 7 Street NE
Additional 2-hour parking zones have been temporarily added to some adjacent streets along 1 Avenue NE, as well as a new temporary parking lot located at the corner of 9 Street NE (see map above).
Please see the map below for more information. Businesses remain open, and pedestrian access will be maintained in the area.
Construction work may occur Monday to Saturday anytime between 7 AM and 10 PM, with occasional work on weekends and overnight as required. Please proceed with caution when travelling through the area and respect all posted signage. Construction work is highly variable, and timelines are subject to change depending on factors such as complexity, weather, and supply chain.
