Blackfoot Trail Bridge Over 9 Avenue SE - Construction Reaches Halfway Mark
Construction on the east sides of Blackfoot Trail and 9th Avenue SE has now been completed marking the official halfway mark on the bridge rehabilitation project. Work has now shifted to the west sides of both roadways bringing the project closer to completion.
Work is slated to pause for the duration of the Calgary Stampede to keep Calgarians and visitors moving smoothly and safely through the community during this busy time. Some impacts will still be in place leading up to the citywide festival, including the closure of the west (eastbound side) walking and wheeling pathway in the underpass and temporary overnight lane closures along 9th Avenue SE. Pedestrian access is still available on the east (westbound) side, and bidirectional traffic will be maintained for the duration of any lane closures.
