Elliston Park Electrical & Irrigation Upgrades
As part of the Parks and Playground Amenities Program (PAPA) and in partnership with Enmax, electrical upgrades are being planned for Elliston Park. In addition, a new irrigation system will be installed. Both projects are scheduled concurrently, with work beginning on September 2, 2025.
Project Timeline
Electrical upgrades will begin September 2,, 2025. This work is anticipated to be complete in two months, weather dependent, with minor installation and restoration planned in the spring.
Irrigation work to begin in early September 2025, weather dependent.
Most of the work will take place in the fall of 2025, with landscaping and site remediation occurring in Spring 2026.
Construction Impacts
Crews will be primarily working in the northwest quadrant of the park. Access to the Elliston Park Inclusive Playground will be maintained from the northwest parking lot.
Traffic disruptions may include a temporary single lane closure eastbound along 17 Av SE, between 60 St. SE and 61 St. SE
No pathway access at the corner of 60 St. SE and 17 Av SE, and 17 Av SE at 61 St SE. Pathway detour signs will be in place.
Partial parking lot closure to accommodate construction staging. It’s anticipated that a portion of the parking lot will remain open throughout the project.
No impacts to the designated off-leash area.
Trucking, noise, and dust during the work.
Vibrations due to compaction.
Additional traffic and congestion.
Regular work hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.
