2025 General Election: Are You Registered to Vote?
Recent changes by the province to the Election Statutes Amendment Act, 2025, now require municipalities in Alberta to prepare and maintain a permanent register of eligible voters. This register and acceptable identification will be used by election officials to verify voter eligibility for Calgary’s upcoming General Election on October 20, 2025.
Elections Calgary encourages all eligible voters to take a moment to confirm their registration and ensure their information is up to date.
How to Check Your Registration Status
On or before August 26, 2025: Visit voterlink, or call 310-0000 (toll free), then dial 780-427-7191.
On or after August 27, 2025: Call or email Elections Calgary. T: 403-476-4100 E: elections@calgary.ca, or check your registration when you arrive at your voting station.
Not on the Register? You Can Still Vote.
Even if your name isn’t on the electors register, you can still cast your ballot. When you arrive at your voting station in October, simply bring acceptable identification and complete a short form to have your information added to the register before you vote.
More detailed information on the 2025 General Election will be available on the Elections Calgary website, and every household will receive a Voter Guide and Voter Information Card in September 2025.
The electors register is only used to verify voter eligibility. Candidates, official agents, and scrutineers are not permitted to view, photograph, or copy the register.
Elections Calgary is a division of the City Clerk’s Office, responsible for the independent and impartial administration of general elections, by-elections, and votes of the electors on behalf of The City of Calgary, the Calgary Board of Education, and the Calgary Catholic School District.
