Calgary Transit Fall 2025 Service Update
Every season, Calgary Transit reviews routes, schedules, and service levels to make sure transit keeps pace with our growing city. The Fall 2025 service changes roll out on September 1, with improvements focused on better connections, reliability, and accessibility across Calgary.
MAX Green: North Central Stations Open
One of the biggest highlights this fall is the launch of MAX Green. Construction is wrapping up on 18 brand-new heated and accessible stations along Centre Street North, running from 28 Avenue N to the North Pointe terminal. At the same time, Route 301 – BRT North will be renamed MAX Green. As the fifth member of the MAX network, MAX Green strengthens rapid transit in north central Calgary, improves the customer experience, and lays the groundwork for the future Green Line.
On Demand Service Expands
On Demand service will see expanded weekend hours this fall, making it easier for riders in growing communities to get where they need to go. There’s also a big change coming in Livingston, where a new fixed route will take over most of the On Demand zone. Route 137 – Livingston will operate daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., providing a direct connection to MAX Green at North Pointe. Ambleton and Carrington will continue to be served by On Demand.
New and Updated Routes
Several new and adjusted routes are being introduced this fall. Route 63 – Alpine Park will connect the community of Alpine Park with Fish Creek–Lacombe Station during weekday peak times. Route 78 – Sundance/Chaparral will be realigned to Sunmills Drive S.E. for more even stop coverage and improved travel times. At McKnight-Westwinds Station, the Route 43 stop is moving closer to the entrance and Kiss & Ride drop-off for easier access. In northwest Calgary, a new stop along Nose Hill Drive at Tuscany Hill NW will serve both Route 26 – Sarcee Trail Crosstown and Route 134 – Rockland Park, improving access to transit in the area.
School Service Returns
With the start of the new school year, school express routes will return on September 2. In Livingston, students will benefit from both Route 137, which links to MAX Green, and Route 753, a dedicated School Express to James Fowler High School. Elsewhere in the city, new school express routes will connect Chaparral to Centennial High School, Copperfield to Lord Beaverbrook, Castleridge to James Fowler, and Seton to St. John Henry Newman. Existing school routes are also being adjusted to improve reliability for students and families.
