Permanent Closure of Portland Street at 11 Street SE CPKC rail crossing.
As part of the Ramsay-Inglewood Public Realm Improvement Project, vehicle traffic along the 11 Street SE corridor will be realigned to optimize available lanes. This includes adding a dedicated left-turn bay for northbound vehicles turning onto 21 Avenue SE, allowing for unimpeded northbound traffic to continue straight through the intersection.

The City of Calgary has announced that the Inglewood Aquatic Centre will temporarily close beginning July 21, 2025, for approximately two months to complete essential safety and infrastructure upgrades identified through a recent facility assessment.
While previous assessments indicated that repairs were not immediately necessary, recent findings confirmed the need for prompt action to protect the safety of staff and facility users. The closure is required to complete critical electrical repairs, including an upgrade to the electrical bonding system, which will ensure all metal components on the pool deck are properly grounded—significantly enhancing safety for all users. Additional work includes sump pump and railing replacements to meet current safety standards.

Construction on the east sides of Blackfoot Trail and 9th Avenue SE has now been completed marking the official halfway mark on the bridge rehabilitation project. Work has now shifted to the west sides of both roadways bringing the project closer to completion.
Work is slated to pause for the duration of the Calgary Stampede to keep Calgarians and visitors moving smoothly and safely through the community during this busy time.

Exploration Asia is undergoing exciting renovations to create larger, more dynamic habitats and inspire even stronger connections between people and wildlife.
As part of this work, the seasonal West Gate, typically open from spring through fall, will remain closed this year. It is expected to reopen later in the 2028/2029 season.

Work will occur on City-owned property and no significant impacts are expected on roadways. Each test will take one to two days. Beginning March 17 through to early April, the Green Line is undertaking a series of borehole tests, identifying utility locations along the future LRT alignment. The objective of this project is to determine whether existing utilities (owned by ATCO, ENMAX, The City of Calgary, Bell, TELUS and Shaw/Rogers) along the Green Line route need to be relocated or can be protected in place.
Test sites are limited to City-owned property but may impact general traffic in the area. There are approximately 200 locations across the SE Segment of the Green Line LRT, on City-owned land. Each investigation is expected to take one day with work happening between 9:00am and 3:30pm. Where there are potential impacts to residences or businesses, the Green Line team will contact those who may be directly affected.

This work will improve future connections to transit and nearby public spaces, while supporting multi-model transportation and investing in better public spaces.

In late November, the Green Line team hosted three information sessions along the southeast portion of the alignment. We shared the current 60% design for stations between Ramsay/Inglewood and Shepard, as well as plans for bridges and guideways.
