Blackfoot Bridge Over 9th Avenue SE
Only a couple more milestones on the Blackfoot Trail bridge over 9 Avenue S.E. before rehabilitation work is complete. Traffic flow changes to make repairs to the bridge are still in place on both Blackfoot Trail and 9 Avenue S.E. Here's what to expect!
9 Avenue S.E. under Blackfoot Trail Bridge
The south sidewalk will be closed until late September. The north sidewalk will close immediately following the reopening of the south sidewalk.
Blackfoot Trail Bridge roadway
A single lane closure on both the westbound and eastbound sides of Blackfoot Trail will be needed to pave the roadway beginning on September 5 and running through the weekend. Please be advised that paving operations are highly weather-dependent and can only proceed if conditions are favourable to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Thank you for your understanding and for reducing your speed through the area while we undertake this important rehabilitation work. For more information about the project, visit our website here.
Inglewood Sanitary Trunk Project
Phase Two of the Inglewood Sanitary Trunk (IST) project will be complete by the end of August 2025.
All trailers and detours will be removed, and landscaping will be completed by the end of the month. The construction fencing around the grass in the greenspace will remain in place until the end of September 2025 to ensure the grass can be fully established. As well, City crews will be onsite to reinstall permit parking signs along 7 Ave S.W. and a Calgary Zoo sign that had been removed during construction in the coming weeks.
This project, completed in two phases, will enhance Calgary’s wastewater system by increasing capacity and reliability as The City continues to grow. The IST is now fully operational and will serve neighbourhoods in Calgary’s north and inner-city through to 2076.
We would like to thank all residents and businesses for your patience and understanding while we completed this necessary work.

Inglewood-Ramsay Public Realm Improvements
Beginning on Wednesday, September 3, the east end of 21 Avenue S.E. will be temporarily closed at the intersection of 11 Street S.E.
This closure will restrict vehicles for approximately two weeks while the 11 Street S.E. corridor surface reconstruction work continues through the area.
Changes to Vehicle Traffic:
21 Avenue S.E. between 9 Street S.E. and 11 Street S.E. will only be accessible from 9 Street S.E. during this closure.
11 Street S.E. will continue to accommodate north and south travel.
Changes to Pedestrian Access:
Sidewalk access will be maintained at the intersection of 11 Street S.E. and 21 Avenue S.E. Please follow all on site signage.
Changes to Bus Transit Routes:
Please go to Calgary Transit’s Service Updates webpage and enter your bus route number to see your temporary bus stop location.
Business access will remain open throughout this work. Timelines and impacts are subject to change due to inclement weather, unforeseen underground conditions, complexity, supply chain, and/or other unexpected circumstances.
