Bridgeland Arctic Adventure is a SUPER fun, free outdoor adventure and scavenger hunt, taking people all around the Bridgeland community. Head out, when it’s convenient for you and do one or all of the activities!
January 20th - 22nd, 2023 - most activities will be available all weekend, but some equipment will be put away in the evening. Friday 12-5pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 9am-5pm

Studies show kids eat better when they are able to touch and cook their food. Learning cooking skills also helps boost their overall confidence.
Register kids aged 8-12 for this FREE 8-week cooking class starting Friday, February 10th 1.30-3.30 pm. Priority is given to families in Great Forest Lawn living on a low income.

We are excited to share that the Dover Neighbourhoods Streets project received $1.3 million in funding from the Government of Canada’s Active Transportation Fund.
This means that we will be able to move forward with more active transportation and traffic calming improvements in the community. These improvements will help safely connect residents of all ages and abilities to the Bow River pathway, shops, schools and more.

In order to prepare for and accommodate the Green Line LRT and other City infrastructure projects, overhead transmission lines will need to be relocated, including along the 6th Street SE underpass.
Throughout December and January, ENMAX will be hosting four public drop-in open houses for the Victoria Park Transmission Line Relocation Project. The public is encouraged to attend to learn more and ask questions about the projects.

As previously communicated, remaining construction was substantially completed in fall 2021, including Ongoing work has been happening along 42 Avenue SE between 1A Street SW and 12 Street SE to improve the walking. biking, and transit experience and provide better access and connections in the area. The bulk of the work has been completed, including the build-out of missing sidewalk links along 42 Avenue SE. and the multi-use pathway along 12 Street SE.

With more people heading outside for winter activities, The City of Calgary wants to remind kids and their families to be safe while enjoying outdoor skating.
Many City of Calgary or community-designated outdoor skating rinks are open or will be opening soon, offering fun, free skating for all skill levels. Rinks maintained by The City are checked daily for ice thickness and quality, and surfaces are flooded as needed to make sure they’re safe for skating.
Prior to lacing up, it’s important to remember that not all ice surfaces are safe for skating. While your community storm pond may look inviting, recreational activities are not allowed on them.

Their goal this year is to raise $40,000 - funds and collect necessities all go to support our annual Christmas Hamper Program.
