Read MoreThe City of Calgary is actively moving forward with the demolition of the former Ogden Legion building. An Order to demolish the structure is in place and has exhausted all appeal options. We are now in the planning phase of the demolition process.
At this stage, an external contractor is conducting a full hazard assessment of the site. We expect to receive the results of this assessment in the coming weeks. These findings will help determine the specific permits required to proceed safely. Based on the age and condition of the building, it is highly likely that asbestos and other hazards will be identified.

This study was conducted to better understand any potential impacts of construction and to ensure continued compliance with the City of Calgary's noise bylaw. The report confirms that operations remain within allowable limits and includes modeled sound levels at the property boundary, both before and after construction.

Work will occur on City-owned property and no significant impacts are expected on roadways. Each test will take one to two days. If more direct impacts are expected to residents or businesses, the Green Line team will coordinate directly with those affected.

Phase II of The George Moss Park upgrades are officially underway!
A new Skatepark and Pump Track will be key additions to the park, providing a safe and inclusive space for wheeled-sports enthusiasts to develop their skills, connect with others, and enjoy outdoor recreation.
The park’s design is shaped by consultation and research, ensuring it complements existing skateparks in the region while introducing unique features. The open layout will include a diverse mix of terrain elements, from a “street plaza” with ledges, quarter pipes, and hips to a flowing concrete pump track—the first of its kind in Calgary!

Repair work will begin with outfalls IC19 and IC18 the first week of November, followed by IC17 and IC16 in late November. Work at these outfalls will include reconnecting pipes that have separated over time, installing new riprap to reduce the water’s force before entering the canal, and restoring any areas on the slope that are disturbed during construction.
