As part of The City’s Local Drainage Improvements (LDI) Program, we will be working in your area to improve the stormwater system to alleviate excessive pooling and flooding that can happen. This work includes installing storm pipes, storm drains (or catch basins), and upgrading existing catch basins and connecting pipes to increase the flow of stormwater into the system.

In partnership with the Forest Lawn Community Association and the Parks Foundation Calgary, construction of the park redevelopment project, located next to the Forest Lawn community centre, is underway! Construction of the park is expected to continue over the next few months during the summer and is anticipated to be completed in the fall of this year, 2023, weather dependent. The design will be accessible for all ages and a variety of user groups. The park will offer opportunities for play, rejuvenation, gathering and physical activity. New amenities in the park might include a sport court, a seating and community gathering area, and pathways.

Construction in Ogden is set to begin the week of July 26th, 2023 to prepare for the GreenLine. The embankment is being built to facilitate the construction of the vehicle tunnel at 78 Avenue SE
Before building the station and tracks, a pedestrian tunnel will be constructed near 72 Avenue SE, a vehicle tunnel will be built at 78 Avenue SE, and a portion of 78 Avenue SE will be upgraded. Once the tunnel at 78 Avenue SE. is complete and open to traffic, the vehicle crossing at 69 Avenue S.E. will be permanently closed. Calgary-based company, Graham Construction, has been selected to build this project.

Construction for the Bridgeland Active Mode Improvements project is anticipated to start the week of July 17, 2023.
Although construction is always weather-dependent, work on McDougall Road (from 6 to 12 Street SW) and 9 Street NE is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Work will be completed in sections along the corridor to limit the number of blocks impacted by construction at any given time.
