Construction on the east sides of Blackfoot Trail and 9th Avenue SE has now been completed marking the official halfway mark on the bridge rehabilitation project. Work has now shifted to the west sides of both roadways bringing the project closer to completion.
Work is slated to pause for the duration of the Calgary Stampede to keep Calgarians and visitors moving smoothly and safely through the community during this busy time.

The Bridgeland Main Street project, part of The City’s larger Main Streets program, is moving into its next stage of construction, with work being focused on the 1st Avenue NE blocks between 6 and 7 Street NE. This next stage of work is slated to begin on June 27th and last for approximately 8 weeks.

The City is currently facilitating right-turn improvement work at the intersection of 36 Street SE and Memorial Drive SE. These improvements are expected to continue through mid-July 2025.
As part of the City's commitment to enhancing pedestrian and traffic safety, smart right-turn signals are being installed at two key corners of the intersection:

As part of the City’s commitment to creating safer and more accessible streets for all users, the following upgrades are being made at all four corners of the intersection at 5 Avenue + 8 Street NE:
Curb extensions on the west side to shorten pedestrian crossing distances and increase visibility
Updated wheelchair ramps on the east side to meet modern accessibility standards
Good news for Calgary: both lanes of the 4 Avenue Flyover are now open during peak hours, ahead of schedule!
Since April, the bridge had been reduced to a single lane of traffic in order to accommodate essential upgrades, extending the life of Calgary’s longest bridge for decades to come.

Are part of the Bridgeland MainStreets project, below is an updated construction schedule for the ongoing utilities work along 1 Avenue NE as part of the ENMAX scope of work.
ENMAX’s contractor will be installing underground utilities along 1 Avenue N.E from Edmonton Trail N.E. to 4 Street N.E. To complete this work safely and efficiently, portions of 1 Avenue N.E. will be closed in stages over the coming weeks.We anticipate the new lane closure and parking changes will begin Friday, May 9, 2025, and will remain in effect for the duration of this stage of the construction (expected to be roughly 8 weeks).
